iPod Touch 3G?

The Apple rumor mill has no brakes and just when we have our new iPhone 3G S phones in our hands the rumors about a new iPod touch 2009 kick in. The source of the rumor about a new iPod touch 3G (3rd Generation) is actually Apple’s fault. The final release of the new iPhone 3.0 software update contains the string “iPod3,1″ according to MacRumors and a iPod touch fans forum post. The current iPod touch is identified by “iPod2,1″.

The “iPod3,1″ string has been discovered in pre-releases of the 3.0 iPhone software before along with iPhone model strings. The current iPod touch 2G was revealed last September. It is a somewhat safe bet that a new iPod touch will be released this coming September. I am pretty sure we will soon see rumors that associate the new iPod touch 2009 with being the all mystical Apple Tablet aka “Apple Netbook”.

Who knows we might even see a MacBook Wheel?
